Netball 2019

We are again excited to be fielding 2 teams in the Eastern Football Netball Competition – Red Team & Black Team

Training has been in full swing for quite a while, with the girls working hard on key areas of fitness & skill development.

The courts at South Belgrave are having some great improvements occurring currently, so we have been utilizing the South Belgrave Primary School for preseason training.

We recently played practice matches against the newly formed Frankston Dolphins more recently, against Upwey Tecoma.

In the 1st outing for the season, Red Team showed some real great signs of their potential for the season with great ball movement, and sticking with the Dolphin opposition.

Black Team faced a tougher challenge against an experienced combination, but worked well together, and were forming some great combinations until their game was unfortunately called off just before half time when one of the Dolphin players suffered a significant knee injury.

Against Upwey Tecoma we ran a combined side due to several unavailability’s, and continued to work on skills, and cohesion between the players.

The girl will be having one last hit out in an intra-club game prior to round 1 of the season, and would love to see plenty of faces there to see how they are going and offering our support. We will keep you updated with the timing of this.

Training takes place on Tuesday Nights from 6:20 PM (currently at the South Belgrave Primary School courts), but will soon move back onto the updated courts at the South Belgrave Recreation Reserve, which will provide the teams with some fantastic facilities to utilize.

We currently have some availability in the teams, so if you are interested in playing, please contact the club through messenger or email at southbelgravefc@yahoo.com.au, or come along to training and meet the girls and coaches.
